Paul Stillwell was born in Luton, England in 1969 and is currently living in Poole, on the south coast of England. After the sudden passing away of his Mother in 2006, Paul began painting as a therapautic hobby to help him deal with the loss. He discovered a talent he didn't know he had and within 2 years his paintings are now in the homes of singer Cheryl Cole and actor Roger Moore, and Paul is receiving much praise from many other celebrities for his art. Paul is self-taught and has never had any art lessons. Learning all he can from visiting galleries and looking at the great classical paintings up close to learn how the masters created light, shadow and blending and also watching artists on TV and absorbing any knowledge and tips that felt right to him. Paul is now building a career painting portraits for anyone from a photo of themselves or their loved ones. Paul says "Painting is also very much about listening to your feelings. I care about my paintings very much and every brush stroke is made with a lot of love and care. I am a perfectionist too and continue to work on each painting until I am totally satisfied with it." Paul also practices the complementary therapy of Reiki healing and says "I like to think that the positive, loving energy of Reiki imprints into my paintings. My Mum loved art and I can feel her around me when I paint and like to think her spirit is encouraging me."
